Towne’s alliance with technology has been an incredible asset to our business. At this point, we are able to do anything a client would like us to do and we are often able to offer services to our clients that they had never even thought about.

Voice Mail: For a business whose greatest asset is our friendly and professional staff, it would seem to be a bit of an oxymoron to offer voice mail services. What we have found is that—used appropriately—voice mail and live operators are a perfect combination for many businesses. It allows a business to have any ‘face’ they choose to show to their callers and it can do it in a very economical way. Greetings and protocols can be created for time of day and urgency of the call. Voice mail can be used at the beginning or within the call and the client can elect to have it record a message or leave that to an operator. Choices are almost limitless!!

Of course, for those who prefer, we can design a very intricate ‘stand alone’ voice mail that can handle their entire company, including dispatching of calls and notifications.

Web Services: Many businesses have a website with information or products but they do not have the staff (especially staff 24/7) that is able to access that information. Our staff is able to talk to the caller as if we were at our client’s business and answer questions or take orders by accessing their website.

Web Portal: Towne has designed our own secure and password protected portal through which clients are able to view and deliver messages and listen to call recordings and change their on-call schedule. Clients can also use it as their own messaging portal and send messages (using a number of methods) to their own staff or communicate with our front-line operators. Web portal clients also have access to database management and can edit and/or update their information. We can also upload and download files to and from our systems. Most importantly, this is secured and also HIPAA compliant.

Towne Answering Service was established in 1968 to provide answering services for medical and commercial clients in the southeastern Pennsylvania area. Utilizing the best technology available at the time (the time was 1968 and the technology was a switchboard), Towne was able to establish a very faithful clientele, the majority of whom are still with us today. As time passed and technology advanced, so did the equipment. The answering service equipment evolved from switchboards to a basic computerized system with handwritten messages. From that, we were able to move to a fully computerized, paperless, state-of-the-art messaging system with digital lines and switching and were able to partner with our clients and provide a higher level of service.
